TORRONE OF CREMONA

Torrone of Cremona is believed to be originally served as a desert for Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti’s wedding, held in Cremona on the 25th October 1441. Torrone is composed of almonds, honey, egg whites and it was shaped as the Torrazzo, Cremona famous tower that once was called Torrione. Nowadays, there are many versions of Torrone with many different ingredients, for example vanilla, mint, coffee, chocolate and two different textures: the classic hard one and the newer soft one.
