The Mantuan Melon PGI, produced in Cremona Province, is also known as Melon of Casteldidone because of the town in which it is produced. Here, the alluvial soil and the perfect climate nurture a high-quality product that obtained the PGI trademark in 2012. In this area, the melon represents a historical product in fact it is also reproduced in many frescos that can be found in castles and churches of the XVII and XVIII centuries of the territory.
